As part of the Technical Program at the 2012 ICUWB, we will host a Student Program with two means of participation. Papers submitted for either the Paper Competition or the Research-in-Progress Colloquium should adhere to the guidelines of the 2012 ICUWB Technical Program. An individual student may participate in both the Paper Competition and the Research-in-Progress Colloquium with two separate submissions.
Student Paper Competition
The 2012 ICUWB Student Paper Competition is open to any student who is the first author of a paper to be presented at the conference. To be eligible, student papers must be completed within 12 months of graduation. Eligible papers and competition prize winners will be reviewed and selected by a committee of academics and professionals. Student Papers selected for the contest should prepare for a presentation. The top three papers will be awarded prizes at the 2012 ICUWB Banquet.
Student Research-in-Progress Colloquium
Students who are currently pursuing their degree and have research they would like to share may participate in the Student Program by presenting incomplete research, currently underway. Research projects which are not complete, research proposals and conceptual or theoretical proposals are all welcome topics. Students should submit a short summary of their research or proposals. Students accepted to the Research-in-Progress Colloquium should prepare a poster to be presented at the conference. Audience members will participate by providing the author with feedback and questions pertaining to the ongoing research. This experience will encourage further development and refinement of the student's research-in-progress and give presenting students the opportunity to network with researchers and professionals in the field of ultra-wideband technology.
